Polygon Park Planting Day

The Friends of the Polygon Park hosted their first spring bulb planting day. The Polygon Playground is unknown to many residents and locals are delighted to learn of this hidden treasure. However, the park is in much need of some T.L.C. and so the work begins!

On Saturday morning, green fingured residents and the fantastic Polygon Kids planted hundreds of bulbs on the bank of the park. Using community tools supplied by Southampton City Council, a mixture of flowers were plotted in the tree shaded earth. The first of many, this event provided residents with a much welcomed opprtunity to meet their neighbours and build community links. This event will kick start the renovation of the playground and further opportunities for community gardening.
