May 2023 Update

Community Garden

The Polygon Orchard Community Garden is now up and running. After a mammoth effort from our volunteers, this once unloved fly-tipping hot spot is a space dedicated to a love and respect for nature. You can read more about this on our Community Garden page.

Rollesbrook Litter Pick

The Rollesbrook Greenway is an importance site of heritage and ecology. In April, BePoRa volunteers partnered up with Southampton City Council to remove a significant amount of litter, fly-tipping and waste. These efforts are so appreciated and need to be ongoing to protect the site.

Southampton's Tiniest Art Gallery

We are more than excited to see that the noticeboard at the Bedford Place carpark has been transformed into a glorious pink beacon of interest! Stay tuned for the first art installation.

A.G.M.

We have organised our Annual General Meeting for Tuesday 23rd May 2023 at 6:30pm at the Morris House Polygon School, 73 Morris Road S0152BQ. We can't wait to see everyone again.

Bins and Waste

Did you get a knock at the door? SCC Waste Management employees visited the entire neighbourhood, inspecting recycling bins and educating residents about contaminated waste. We continue to work with them to improve the ongoing bin situation...

Sometimes the online forms don't quite fit what you want to raise an issue about. SCC have advised that in these circumstances, you can use this form to help support the proper use of wheelie bins etc.

We are currently in talks with SCC on the topic of student move-out waste support.

Wilder Southampton

Wilder Southampton have awarded us a plaque to recognise our efforts to support nature and wildlife in our neighbourhood. It is proudly displayed in the Polygon Orchard community garden.

The Polygon Park

So many residents do not know that there is a playground in the Polygon. Unfortunately it is in desperate need of some TLC. Our counsellors have promised us their support in improving the site to be more safe, appealing and fun. In order to draw attention to the area, we have put up new signs at the entrances at Sandhurst Road and Handel Terrace. The children of the neighbourhood are important residents too, and it is vital that we work towards providing them with a safe area for supervised play.
